Defaults when account sold on?

I've just managed to get Barclaycard to remove the AP markers on my account and add a default as of Sept 2010. Result. I've just checked Noddle as it updates today and I see that Barclaycard have indeed updated the account with D markers. However, the account was sold to Cabot in 2011 and the open Cabot account still show AP markers. This is obviously the same account so the Cabot markers should also be D's.
Will this carry over automatically or do I need to contact Noddle etc. and tell them to put this right? Or Cabot?
At the end of the day I care not what Cabot put on there. I assume that it will fall off in Sept 2016 anyway?

Do both barclaycard and cabot show on your noddle report? If so then that itself is incorrect. Cabot should only put an entry on your file if BC remove theirs first.
Unlikely that the cabot record will be corrected. But you could write to them, copy in bc and state that you notice they are reporting a duplicate account to the original creditor and that you require them to remove their entry from your file.
As you say it will drop off 6 years after the default date, but if cabot doesn't show a default, or shows a later date then it will continue to show after Sept 16.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks Tixy, the Barc account appears under Closed Accounts which they have updated correctly. The Cabot one is in open accounts and does not show a default date. I guess I now need to write to them as well.0

They should agree which ONE of them reports it as per:
http://www.ico.org.uk/~/media/documents/library/data_protection/detailed_specialist_guides/default_tgn_version_v3%20%20doc.ashx
Complain to Cabot as it should be either removed or set to the same dates and status as Barclaycard.
Save a copy of your credit report first mind, in case they remove the Barclaycard entry then play silly !!!!!!s. You then have a copy.:beer:0
