Is your home phone and broadband provider any good?

I have been with Virgin Media for my Broadband since it was first introduced. Despite the ups and downs over the years, it has performed consistently well. Where else can you get 120Mbs? I only ever upgraded, and paid for, to 50Mbs. All the upgrades since then have been free. IOt doubled to 100Mbs and a few months later it was upped to 120Mbs, again free. Which other provider gives you that? And I have never been "slowed down" or restricted in any way. I watch the ads on the tv claiming all sorts of speeds and VFM and not one of them can touch Virgin Media. I tried Sky Broadband once for about 3 months and was absolutely disgusted with it. They promised "up to 16Mbs" I got a maximum of 3.75Mbs! This was one of the things they didn't tell us. My telephone line was capped at that speed and couldn't be upgraded. It was so bad and I made so many complaints that they waived the agreement and I went back to VM. and I've never regretted it. Their customer service, whilst not the best, (After Santander, it was the next worst!) has improved a lot over the last year.

I'm with BT, their service has been great but I am getting really fed up with having to pay full rate for a telephone line just so I can have BB connection.

I don't use my home phone at all and I get a couple of pounds penalty each month, on top of the £15 line rental fee....all for a service I have no choice in taking out.

It's about time the big players offer a massively reduced price line rental package purely for BB useage with no ability to take/make calls.
    I have a simple philosophy:
Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. Scratch where it itches.

Talk Talk Broadband, Phone & Youview. It just works, so zero contact with customer service. I guess that counts as excellent customer service? I don't think I even spoke to a person when I ordered youview, on-line. Perfect.

Though the installer did tune my line and got me an extra 2Mb download speed.

I'm paying £30 p.m. including rental, all calls, unlimited download and a few Youview freebies. Should I be looking for cheaper? (although I've got an 18 month contract with 15 to run in any case).
Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc

We suffered at the hands of TalkTalk after they took over Tiscali and they were appalling.
We switched to o2 and they have been excellent with great English speaking/based support and local shops. Everything you could ask for in fact.
Now that Sky have bought the o2 landline/broadband service we're really worried about having to go through the same awful time we had with TalkTalk.
Does anyone else have the same worry and what can Sky customers tell us to reassure, or otherwise, us about Sky?
