Wescot SPV Ltd

My wife received a letter from this company saying we owed £327.50 to Littlewoods. Strange thing is we never have had anything from Littlewoods, plus when we phoned Wescot we asked when the debt was from they said 2001, so asked was it from the current address that was on the letter, they said yes. I told them that the debt was not ours then as we didn't move to this current address until 2003, to which they had no answer apart from to inform us that the debt was ours as it was in our name! After a bit more arguing with them they told me to contact the National Fraud Centre and get a reference number and to phone them back. So i did this, then went to phone them back and got told that they couldn't take the reference number over the phone and that we had to send it to them in writing (by which time i had had enough) so my response was to say "Ok see you all in court" lol Anyone else had this problem with this 2 bit fly by night company?

Sounds like they're on a fishing expedition.
Don't waste your time ringing them (a phone conversation isn't worth the paper it's not printed on). Just send a "Prove It" letter, but make sure you don't sign it.
Even if the debt were yours, chances are it'd be SB anyway.0 -
Cheers Bob, think i'll just wait to see if they send anyone, see if they can get past my 12 stone Rottweiler lol0

Your wife might want to check her credit files.
If they have mistakenly traced this debt to her it might also be inaccurately showing on her files.
If its not on there then I would just wait to see if you get another letter, and if you do then send the prove it letter - Letter when you know nothing about about the debt - AKA "Prove it" letterA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Ty Tixy, im drafting the "Prove it" letter now, as i know they will write back lol Will let you know if i get a response.0
