Adoption certificates

Hi, my partner has a job interview on Thursday, and they need a copy of his birth certificate.
He's adopted so had an adoption certificate, but he's lost it, is there any way he'd be able to get a replacement by Thursday?
I know with birth certificates you can go to a register office, but I'm not sure about adoption certificates.

You should be able to get a certified copy directly from the General Register Office - look at their website or ring them for advice 03001231837. I believe that if you pay the priority fee of about £24 and apply before 4pm they post first class the next working day but it would be worth ringing to check.2026 Decluttering and redistribution 419/1526 Major job list 125/500 Total 544/2026 ⭐️⭐️🏅🏅

I was just wondering if we could go somewhere in person to get it printed. As 7.50 is quite a bit less than £24. But he wasn't registered at he register office (he says?!?) and he got his adoption certificate from court?! I'm not quite sure if that's true or just what he's been told.0 -
I believe it will have to come from General Register Office at Southport which means waiting for it to be delivered or going for the more expensive premium service. You can order on line either way but suggest you ring them for advice. Potential employer might be happy to see a passport at interview subject to him providing an adoption certifcate once it is available. He is going to need one for any job as they have to check eligibility to work in UK.2026 Decluttering and redistribution 419/1526 Major job list 125/500 Total 544/2026 ⭐️⭐️🏅🏅
