Joint mortgage

Hi,
Me and my finacee are looking to get a joint mortgage.
She has a good credit history.
I have 1 default from last June that was settled in September.
In 2011 i quite a few pay day loans and i have had 2 this year and 1 in 2012.
I have not missed a payment on any credit in the last year to 18 months.
Would this stop us getting a mortage?
We have joint income of £76k and looking to get a mortage of 85% LTV on a £250k house.
Thanks

Your situation is very similer to my own - my boyfriend has a default from last year. When I spoke to the mortgage advisor on the phone she basically said no to him and I would be better applying on my own....! If the default was older then we would have stood more of a chance.0
