Can somebody clarify, where an employer arranges a group personal pension, where the contract is essentially still between the provider and the employee, does the employee have an influence over the type of investments made with those funds, as the employee would if they had arranged it themselves?

The employer can restrict the range. Many do. However, you are free to pick from the range that is on offer.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
