Apprentices travel costs

Hi just a quick one, was wondering if apprentices can claim travel costs, work is approx 1 mile from my house and the training centre is roughly 35 miles away, last year I drove there everyday and this year I'm going once a week.
I heard people from other companies get paid it on my course, so was just wondering if everyone is entitled to it?

There is no entitlement to travel costs, you would need to ask your employer if they can help.
I trust you walk to your normal workplace?0 -

I drive since I do 12 hours shifts and start at 6am

Just put it on google maps and its actually 3 miles, bad estimation I made
That's quite a difference - sounds like a bike is the answer (yes, they work at 6am!).
By driving you are incurring costs needlessly - walk/ cycle to work and train/ bus to college once a week. Problem solved.0 -
Ask your college about bursary support for travel costs.0
