Bank holiday, SSP or holiday pay?

Does anyone know if my husband should have received holiday pay for Christmas/New Year bank holidays.
He has been off sick since November and receiving SSP but we were wondering if he should have received holiday pay for the bank holidays (Christmas/ Easter etc) rather than SSP? His contract states
"Your holiday entitlement is as set out on page 1 of this agreement and is in addition to recognised bank and public holidays"
His company have been vile towards him and we want to know if he is entitled before we query this.

Surely this is a very similar question to the last one?

It gets carried over to use at another time unless they allow to pay it.

We just wondered why, if he is entitled it wasnt paid at Christmas/Easter rather than just SSP.
Sorry if you feel its the same question but it is slightly different and we want to know what his rights are rather than annoying his company even further.
We have looked at various other sites but the information is sometimes rather obscure.

    Fair enough.

From my understanding as its a holiday day if he is sick he can ask to have it paid as a days holiday instead of sick pay or if they refuse its SSP and it gets carried on.

Being a bank holiday is irrelevant as its still costs your OH a days holiday to have that of if he weren't ill.
