Urgent advice please...

Hi,

We are due to meet with our broker this afternoon to fill out everything for the mortgage. We dont get paper bank statements anymore because we do internet banking. We have printed out the last 3 months statements, but the broker says we need to go into the bank to get them stamped/signed.

So my OH went into his bank at lunch time and they basically wouldn't do anything of the sort and treated him like a criminal, espeically when they found out it was for a mortgage and it wasn't with them! This was lloyds tsb.

Really need urgent advice here. I have to go into my bank (halifax) later and get mine stamped.

Does anyone know if this is normal or what we should do , or if it will hold things up because we are on a tight deadline for completion and need to submit the application asap!

Thanks.

Feanor, I'm not sure what the actual procedure is... but I required to get printouts stamped by my local Halifax branch and they did them with little fuss, thinking about it I think they may have printed them out for me and stamped them can't quite remember - but there wasn't much to it.

Thanks for the replies. I think my bank will be fine when i go in before our meeting later as my sister used to work for Halifax and says they should be fine about it.

My Oh could order his statements and pay for them but they said it could take a week and we just dont have a week. Hopefully we can apply for the mortgage anyway. I said to my OH that i would have asked to see the manager!

You can apply for your mortgage without the bank statements. Did you say your mortgage was going to be with Abbey? just go along without them, and get the broker to send them on to Abbey when you receive them. There is no great panic.

    Hi,

Thanks again. The mortgage is with Nationwide now as we require a lesser amount and Abbey put on a higher lending charge.

Thanks, im reassured there is no panic. We do actually have the statements, just not actually stamped!

    Thanks
