applying for agreement in principle - buying and selling

any help appreciated for a relatively new-bie.

i have a property to sell and its on the market. still another £110k to pay off on the mortgage.

ive seen a house that id like to purchase but at what point can i start applying for a mortgage on the new house? do i have to sell the flat first?

    I was told I can do full application when I have an offer on mine and I have an offer accepted on the one I'm buying

    Typically, it is advisable to get an Agreement In Principle first. If there is nothing unusual in your situation and no adverse credit then you can hold off on this until offers accepted.
