Re-potting Mustard

Have just found an unopened 1.24kg tub of wholegrain mustard dated BB Feb 2012
.
I have absolutely no problem in using it (once it has passed the sniff/taste test) but was wondering if it would be possible to decant it into smaller jars and re-seal them?
I was thinking of heating the jars in the oven, filling them with the mustard and (hopefully) as the hot jar cools it will create enough of a vacuum to seal the jar. Or is this wishful thinking? Can anyone advise me, please.
Thanks in advance

I can't see anything wrong with your plan. I've had opened jars of mustard in the cupboard for yonks (like years) and never seen any mould on it or suffered any ill-affects from using it.0
