Being chased for tuition fee debt from 2002

I've not spoken to the university since I dropped out but I'm being told I owe tuition fees for a year I didn't attend from over ten years ago. Now it's pure chance I even got this letter as I don't live at that address anymore. I was under the impression that they had six years to claim this debt back?

They can claim it back whenever they like. After six years of non payment and non acknowledgement by you the debt becomes statute barred and they cannot take you to court to enforce it, even though you still owe it.0

The letter is just from the university, stating I owe several hundred pounds for tuition OR accomodation from my time there. It doesn't even say exactly what or when its for but I've not been there since '02. Nuts.0
