Would I Be Sacked

When i got the job that i am in now for about 9 months my employer done a CRB check on me and everthing was fine

Just a few days ago a person had a go at me because he said that i cycled out in front of him it did not turn into a fight but it could have i just kept a cool head in a hot situtation and that was that

My question is had it turned into a fight and if i done that person harm defending myself and been charged with GBH in a court of law would my employers be informed about it and would i be sacked from my job ?

What a strange question! If none of that actually happened, why on earth do you want to know what would've happened if it had?

Unless of course, you're planning on attacking this person at some point in the future

    Agree with Cheeky_Monkey.

I suppose it would depend on a few things, what your job is, your employers attitude, if you were found guilty, which, in turn, would depend on the circumstances.

What is your occupation? If it is a notifiable occupation then when you are convicted (or if it is a serious enough offence that the police think it's too risky to allow you to carry on in your job while they investigate and await trial, sometimes on arrest) your employer will be notified...depending on the nature of the offence and the work you do, you could be suspended/sacked if you're no longer considered fit and proper to carry on in the job.

You may also want to check your employment contract/employee code of conduct etc, because you may be expected to notify your employer if you are arrested/charged/convicted of an offence. If you fail to do so and it comes out when your DBS check is next due (often every three years) then you could be sacked for failing to report it to them.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

Never mind would your employers have been informed about it, our contracts state that we must tell the employer if we're involved in police proceedings. Does yours?

    LOL!!!

What a terrible attempt to cover the truth up.

If your working in a role you had to have a CRB for, not only will you be extremely likely to have a clause in your contract that you HAVE to let them know. It's also highly likely that they will need to 'renew' your CRB very 2 or 3 years, so it would show up then and you would be dismissed for not telling them.

I would suggest you do one of the following:

    1. Find a job which doesn't require a CRB and get yourself out of the problem by resigning. That way you haven't been sacked, you have a job and nobody has to know anything.

    2. Drag it out, lie, they find out, you get sacked, then you have the up hill battle of trying to find a new job after being sacked for lying.

    3. Tell them straight away what's happened and ask what they want you to do and if you'll be sacked. >this is not the option I would take, although the most honest, your just leaving yourself open to be sacked<

If you depend yourself with 'reasonable force'. You have nothing to worry about.

Seems a very bizarre post, though.

Perhaps and perhaps not. I suppose it is no surprise that someone who is CRB checked should feel on edge about the risks of every day life to his job. And on a bit more reflection, I can see that someone in such a position may feel that in a physical confrontation they sort of have one hand tied behind their back
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

Also realise you could possibly be suspended while the case was ongoing. Then if you are cleared it still may be an issue (depending on employer). Something similar happen to someone at my work recently.

Sorry realised browneyedbazzi said similar in her post with more info than mine. The experience still stands though. Do check your contract. Anything like this better your employers are told first.
