Does anyone know where I can get cheap battery powered strings of LED fairy lights to use in our centrepieces?
I've had a look in this forum but most of the links I've found seem to be out of date now. We've got 7 tables so they need to be fairly cheap to keep the overall cost down.
The best I've found so far is £3.30 for a string of 10 from Clas Ohlson but they need 4xAA batteries each so that means I'm going to need buy 28 batteries! Also I ideally need something a bit longer than a string of 10.
I've tried pound/bargain shops, a few supermarkets, and TK Max but can't find any that aren't close to £10 per set.
Does anyone have any suggestion. I'm in the Newcastle area if that helps.

Ok I've just checked ebay again and there seem to be some suitable sets on there. For example sets of 30/40 that run off 3xAA for £3-4 which is more like what I was after.
When I looked on there before they mostly seemed to be sellers outside the UK so wouldn't arrive in time but I've found some UK sellers. I'll post links here if they're any good in case it helps anyone else.
Other suggestions are still welcome though. Also does anyone know how long they tend to run for? Don't want to have to change batteries part way through the evening!Chris0 -
