Help, four years ago did a re mortgage with Yorkshire bank as was told when i got orig mortgage fully portable. A mistake had been made and was not portable but re mortgaged with them. As uni fees for kids fixed five years but did a 1.5% step up so a 25 year mortgage if paid weekly ( as intrest callculated daily) would take 18years four months to pay off. Great but four years later the time we will be paying now stands at 18years 11months. After numerous tries can get no explaination other than i should of been told was a risk. I was not and can not see how a risk as come in to it. At this rate i could be paying weekly and 1.5% more for nothing what do i do. If i change mortgage fees to pay can anyone help! Anyone else got this mortgage type?
