Sainsbury's £5 off voucher - use them even if they are out of date

Went to Sainsbury, Great Cambridge Road in Enfield yesterday, clutching my £5 off/week vouchers (for a 4-week period, ending 3 June). These were sent out to local homes following major refurbishment. When I got to the checkout, the very kind lady behind the till told me that my Week 1 voucher, which I hadn't used, might still work - and it did! So I saved £10 on my shopping! I left with a big smile on my face!:T

Don't forget that these are the type of Sainsburys vouchers that Tesco does accept as well (they are Spend & Save vouchers as per the banners Tesco put up sometimes).

Sainsburys also sometimes send Nectar cardholders similar coupons, with your surname on. These too will be accepted at Tesco as a loss leader.

Never throw them away if out of date, they scan at Tesco whenever, even if Sainsburys tills don't accept them.

A Sussex store recently closed for a refit and they were nice enough to leave a few piles of these coupons out on the last day before closure. Not after I had been there (OK I left just a few!). But then I handed them out at the school gate and gave some Mums a quick lesson on couponing (well learning something new is what school is for...!).
