Teaching it how to survive if money is tight and that you can actually make money from litter. Her maths at school is superb for her age - result of counting whether a receipt is eligible within the 28 day thingy, tallying up 8 different items etc and total of the shopping in basket versus the total of apgs we have. Moral of the story take your kids wombling and watch their maths improve!!!!
When I was young money was very tight. My Mum had 4 kids under 7.She used to send me to the greengrocers for 6p of specs(fruit) 3p of bones from the butcher(for soup) and a shillings worth of deaduns from the bakers(cream cakes left over).Jumble sales on a Saturday was te highlight of the week.Great education.0 -
