It depends on the branch. But it seems to be possible to open an account even if you are not really in the trade and get trade prices. Wish I'd known this before I did my kitchen last year even though I got very good deals from B&Q and Wickes through "negotiation"

Lasttime i was in they had 20% off kitchens if you spend £300. Dont know what end date was though
