I have just watched the news re the tornado in America and my thoughts are with anyone who like myself has relatives there particularly 3dogs.I was there several years ago in Illonois when we had the tail end of one and it is very scary and causes much death and destruction and hearing the warnings on the radio telling you all to get in the basement was almost serile.
On a lighter note had to smile about the fact they are allowing the garden knomes back at Chelsea Flower show this year :T a couple of friends are going I was unable to go due to going into hospital but will am following it on TV but somehow not quite the same.
Enjoy your day however you spend it:):)
Ps exscuse the spelling mistake minds gone blank this morning:eek:
Morning Nannylala. I do enjoy your posts as we are probably of a similar vintage.:) With age comes wrinkles but also wisdom;)
I've also been watching the Tornado news and can't imagine what it must be like to constantly live in that environment, even though they are prepared every year.
I've also watched the news about what is going on in Syria and the rest of the Middle East.
I'm so glad/grateful we live where we do and those who have petty issues with peoples shopping habits and FB should be mindful of that:cool:Awaiting a new sig0 -

For parents of children with ADHD, I have a question. We brought DD to her (Rather late!) 2 1/2 year review last week and the HV was very impressed. DD aced her puzzles including a 3 year old one, colours, numbers, letters everything. She went off to get more and still DD solved 4 year old puzzles like she was bored
THEN, she agreed that DD is showing autistic tendancies specific to ADHD and therefore we're going back in August to see her again, with a view to a paediatric referral. I've just read on netmums that diet can impact on a child's behaviour. Now I know the obvious, the only time DD has sweets or chocolate is when she goes to nanny's house. At home she has healthy snacks but what I wanted to know was in there anyone on here who recommends any particular foods that they have found to be helpful?
Any help / advice appreciated x
Hi PM, don't know that I can help much with your specific question but didnt want to just skip past it either. I have also read various things about diet affecting behaviour in various places but there seems to be an awful lot of different info and advice. Why not ask your HV to contact a dietician for you ( she should have access to one locally) with a view to pointing you in the right direction?
I have never been able to test any of these theories out on my son. He chooses to be very restrictive with his diet ( common in autism, I believe ) I was advised long ago to stop trying to change his eating habits because I won't get anywhere. He will only eat certain colours of food, certain combinations etc....won't eat naked chicken, won't even look at anything green , won't drink milk.....the list goes on
I got advice from a dietician about supplementing his diet with the things he will eat and it was very useful 0 -

I don't know why I don't do it, it may have been when I was on holiday
I did do more than 3 times though, but every one of those was a genuine trip. Hope they don't start looking into those too!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards.
