It uses about half a jar and I put the rest in the fridge for the next loaf.

I dont think the almonds are crucial so I dont use these. But I do tend to put a drop of vanilla essense and Ive got orange essense as well and I dont think a little bit of mixed spice or ground ginger would do any ahrm either.

I only had plain flour so I used baking powder as a raising agent and 3 small eggs rather than 2 large as thats what I had left.

Thank you - I've got everything needed in the recipe so I feel a baking day coming on tomorrow - especially if its still hissing down like its been doing all day today !
What I tend to do is to cut thick slices, wrap them and freeze them so you have a slice ready to go straight into a lunch box

If I were Angelina Jolie I have to say I would not have cut off the paps.

Not going to criticise etc as I'm not AJ.

But I guess any joke I make would fall a bit flat.

Just read the story. A subject very close to my heart. My girls have had both their grandmother's die of this disease as did I. I am just not brave enough to find out my risk.

I have tried to limit my chances by having children early in life and breast feeding all three for longer than most. I did try to stay clear of artificial additives and sweetners but have let myself down last few years.

I don't think I would want to have to make the decision that Angelina has I will wait and see what life throws at me on the way.

OHs cousin has had the test for the gene as OHs aunt is also had breast cancer survivor, hopefully a positive for my girls as she did not have it.
