Well I've started the big clear up today, its a
'Now the kids have left its time to reclaim the house' campaign
Not done too bad this morning, tided the baking cupboard before doing 2 mincemeat loaves for youngest son and found 3 jars of mincemeat from the time it was a silly price in Sada.
I've been doing another box of store cupboard food and one of toiletries and cleaning stuff for him so I've filled another 2 boxes to go up to him via his mate or via ourselves. while I was playing Tetris in the under the bed store I found a bag with a perfume spray and a hair colour that I'd forgotten I'd got in Boots from the sale shelf so that will be good for a refresh in between hairdressers visits.
Nothing as good as the forgotten bottle of Gordons we found at the back of the gin cupboard a few weeks back but I don't think you could ever top that.
Sophie the tortoiseshell cat dragged home a baby rabbit as big as herself - even if we eat rabbit it wasnt even big enough for a rabbit sandwich :rotfl:
If its not a closely guarded family recipe I would love a copy of the mincemeat cake details - I've got several jars that need using ! TIA.ELITE 5:2

You have a gin cupboard :eek:
Yes - it actually has 2 Gin bottles, one Gordon's and one duty free. Actually people keep leaving other bottles of alcohol in this cupboard now as well - part finished bottles of whiskey, Disarano, Grants and Southern Comfort - these are not ours, but I think the kids now have had the waste not want not ethic so drummed into them when they go to parties and they find a left over bottle it comes home with them
Our fridge is even posher, it has a yogurt shelf and a chocolate shelf“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. I'm so glad this is the first post I cam across during my catch up
:rotfl::rotfl:
On that, though. I recently took all the family for a bite to eat there and loved the new menu. Loads of meals that come with a free drink and make them cheaper (when the kids want J2O) than a kid's meal!
Why is it that kids always want a J2O when they are out, Wetherspoons was the only place mine were allowed them from when they were younger. Pretty decent price anyway but yes their meal offers even better. :T
Afternoon all, horrible day down here and it is making me feel horrible.0 -

It uses about half a jar and I put the rest in the fridge for the next loaf.
I dont think the almonds are crucial so I dont use these. But I do tend to put a drop of vanilla essense and Ive got orange essense as well and I dont think a little bit of mixed spice or ground ginger would do any ahrm either.
I only had plain flour so I used baking powder as a raising agent and 3 small eggs rather than 2 large as thats what I had left.
What I tend to do is to cut thick slices, wrap them and freeze them so you have a slice ready to go straight into a lunch box“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Ive tried to copy and paste the lsit but it comes out weird if anyone has the technical wizzardry“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0
