We had a very MSE morning.
Its our 1st full day as home alone parents so instead of doing our usual Saturday things we decided to do something different so we went to Chester on the train, parked car at work so no parking fees and used the train passes.
There used to be a free rail link bus between Chester station and the city centre but its now £1 per person . So despite the weather we had a nice walk into town browsing some nice little shops en route. Saved £2
Usually if we got to Chester we get a free coffee first from the little Waitrose and use our Waitrose cards, sit somewhere nice to drink it, but as it raining we didnt.
I got 2 Express newspapers from BHS for 50p each to get my free tubs of Onken yogurt for £1.20.
I'd also got two £10 Marks clothing vouchers to use by May 19th so as there were quite a few final reductions rails I went right through to find somethign practical and useful and finally found a swimsuit, black plain vest and an oatmeal jumper, till girl had no problem taking both coupons and the final £10 I paid for with my gift card :T
We then did a full circuit of the charity shops, Boots sale shelves and New Look sales rails but nothing took our fancy.
By which time it was lunch time so as I had printed off my Piano and Pitcher voucher we went there. If you subscribe to their monthly email updates you get an offer email each month which you can either print off or just show your email on your phone as its just the code they need.
The Piano and Picher in Chester is lovely, leather sofas and wooden floors and over looks the ampitheatre. And free wi fi.
This month in the update there was a code to show to the girl at the bar to get a free Pimms or a free pint of Budweiser so I got the Bud for OH - worth £4.50. I also asked if I could use the other offer and she said it would be no problem. The other offer is If you get the sharing flatbread you also get 2 glasses of rose included - the wine is worth about £4.15 a glass each
So for £8.15 - less than a McDonalds lunch we had a lovely Mozzarella and Garlic mushroom sharing flatbread, 2 glasses of rose and a pint of Bud
So slightly tipsy, not used to lunch time drinking we walked back to the station - another £2 saved by not used the rail link bus.
Total spend for the morning less than a tenner :T
Sounds like my kind of day out. Thanks for sharing. :T
Unfortunately not often I can drag Mr TS into a town of any kind.0 -

Me too.
Chilli with black bean and prawn balti both 50p and some vegetable goulash crisp bakes twin pack. Thank to OPs for pointing us in direction of freezers.
Anyone local to me the big As have these left and the little As have big ready bake quiche 50p, SEL more expensive in the big As for that. No 30p Findus meals cottage pie or spag bol in either just empty gaps.
Also I found 9 pack of Huggies wipes for £3.50 not in the baby aisle but the skincare one (big store) about 4 or 5 boxes left when I was there. The 12 packs are £10. :eek:0 -

Yes you do. Proven so far. I've no idea if it counts for the 10p off though but will be finding out.I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.
