Hi All, I received a phonecall from the OR 2 wks ago stating that my IPA would be £358 p/mth. i have wrote my SOA below as i havent received any paperwork from the OR as to how this sum was decided.
Rent £500
H/keeping £450
Gas & Elec £155
Water £35
L/line, B/band & mobile £37
Petrol £130
Clothing £5
P/tax £107
Tv/license £13
Contents ins £6.52
Car ins £20.28
Road tax £2.92
Pet food £25
Vets £12
Health i.e. dentist optician £5
Hair cuts £5
sky £35
My income is £1414 My OH income is £1000
It is only myself that went BR as all the debt in my name, but the OR has taken £500 a mth as contributed by my OH which does not happen as he has his own debts.
I have 2 queries to ask really,
1st will i receive the figures from the OR as to how this IPA was concluded,
and 2nd we wil be moving shortly from a private rent to a council rent which will be £180 a mth less in rent, but will they allow for the cost of hiring a van to move, and also money to purchase a cooker as i dont own one.

Hi Elsie,
Most of your amounts are reasonable. I would have put £15 for clothing and £10 for haircuts though. Otherwise fine.
You're right, your OH's contribution should be proportionate to your incomes, as you earn more by my calculations they should expect you to contribute 59% of the household expenses and the OH should therefore be expected to contribute 41%.
1) Request from the OR the breakdown of the figures that they have decided you need. Don't agree anything until you have seen them. the figures don't come automatically, you need to ask for them.
2) save money now ready for moving expenses and for things you need, it would seem you have considerable 'spare' each month and until your IPA is set up you can be saving that much monthly. An IPA can take a while to be agreed upon and until it is set up and starts that money is yours for your living expenses."Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." Dalai Lama0 -
OR told me to keep aprils payment £358 and i signed the letter cos it said it would go back to court if not signed and returned within 14 days. it took 9 days to arrive so i panicked and signed and returned same day.0

Sadly, the bullying tactics I've learned to expect from the IS since 2010, they really are no better than the creditors these days.OR told me to keep aprils payment £358 and i signed the letter cos it said it would go back to court if not signed and returned within 14 days. it took 9 days to arrive so i panicked and signed and returned same day.
You have a cooling off period if you are not happy with your IPA - as per here...............
31.7.135 Determining 14 days where a signed agreement is returned by post
Where the IPA is sent to the bankrupt by post to be signed, allowing the 14-day period described at paragraph 31.7.133 will mean that the period of time allowed will run from the deemed date of receipt by the bankrupt, that is 2 days after the date of dispatch, by the official receiver and not from the date the bankrupt gave consent by signing the agreement. This means, for example, that if the IPA is sent to the bankrupt on 1 September, the 14-day period will run from 3rd to 17th September, and if the official receiver receives the signed agreement from the bankrupt on any date prior to that, he/she need only wait until 17th September to sign the agreement.
