Out of hours payments

Hi,
Briefly, i work in criminal law and represent people detained in police custody.
I get paid approx 15k annually on top of my salary for this work out of hours.
The job is an essential service, meaning the out of hours will always be available as income.
My question is, will providers allow 100% towards mortgage lending?
Thankyou

Hi there,
It will be dependent upon a variety of factors, specifically the lender as all lenders will treat this uniquely and also the manner in which it is paid.
Aside from these your deposit and credit file will be important.
If you are tight on what you are borrowing, either a lot of leg work on the highstreet/internet or engage a broker.

Thankyou for your prompt response, im working on the deposit and credit file shouldnt be an issue. It is, and remains my intention to instruct a broker when the time is right.0

You must be aware of the current government proposals to put criminal legal aid out to tender? Fee levels for criminal legal aid have been frozen in actual terms for the last 10 years, and any firm who bids for the new tenders cannot bid higher than 82.5% of the current fee levels (i.e. a further drop of 17.5%). And a vast reduction in number of firms who will get contracts. And a fixed maximum allocation of cases so no ability to increase fee income.
What confidence do you have that your employer will be in business in a year's time? Seriously, the criminal legal aid business is under serious threat at present so I wouldn't think that now is a time to be stretching yourself.0
