Friday 10th May - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free. :T
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :money:
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Horray for Friday!
I have this weekend off and my only plans are Mr T's shop and get my wheel bearing done on my car, other than that the weekend is my oyster!
I have a mini list today but we're short staffed so won't be doing much...
But first to today:-
- [STRIKE]Check banking[/STRIKE]
- Keep an eye on conveyancing progress
- [STRIKE]Packed lunch from stores[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Breakfast[/STRIKE] and dinner from stores
-[STRIKE] OH has his MOT licence test today, which means more service work which means more bonus for him (us
)[/STRIKE] He passed
- Write and price up Mr T's list for tomorrow
- Try to revive DD's school socks with a block of Vanish I've had for yonks!
- Sparkle!
Jx
I have also just remembered to organise my wheel bearing for tomorrow! So I need to pick it up tomorrow morning and drop my car off to OH.

Morning  happy Friday :j (although its been 2 weeks of Friday's for me
- still no sign of CRB and therefore start date though....)
Things for me today:
* reviewed finances and adjusted budget to see how I will cope if don't start before 18th (if I don't I won't get paid until the end of June. It is tight but doable - thanks to years of learning to live on a budget!)
* checked banking
* reviewed recent cc spends/receipts and paid off from various accounts
* did VSP
* got mince out of freezer for dinner tonight. Friend's coming for dinner. Was thinking about buying a pack of mince but found 2 smaller portions in the freezer instead.
* go to veg shop for salad & veg
* pick up a baguette, cream & wine from Mr T
* going to visit bff for a coffee (and perhaps a walk?)
* go and visit dd and help her do some unpacking, give her a bag of items from here
* finish off emptying old chest of drawers and put in the shed ready to drop off at the furniture recycling project next week
* oh picking up a slow cooker from a freecycler for dd
* super speedy house work hour when I get home
* make rubbarb crumble for dinner
ok think that is more than enough! Better get my socks onhave a lovely day y'all x

Morning!
Thanks to josie for starting the thread
It's a late one from me. Not feeling great this morning. OH got in from band practice at 1.45am  and then I couldn't get back to sleep for a couple of hours. Then I woke up at about 6 and the whole room was spinning! (Poss eyes woke up before brain?!)
So starting to feel a bit better. Will eat early lunch, see if that helps. So today:
[STRIKE]Lunch - left over pasta bake from yesterday[/STRIKE]
Dinner from stores
[STRIKE]Freeze soup portions[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Make bread[/STRIKE] Used tub of sweet chilli dip lurking in fridge to make chilli bread
[STRIKE]Check seedlings (raining here so shouldn't need water)[/STRIKE] Rain has left off so washing outside (don't own a tumble drier but mse as means the dehumidifier less likely to click on
[STRIKE]Check online banking[/STRIKE]

Hello Friday-People,
Mixed day here as not feeling too lively (hormones) so am doing a splurge of housework followed by a non-splurge of sitting down feeling crappy.....never mind, I'll soon pick up.
Today's list:
*Clean top/outside of cooker without resorting to buying anything specifically cooker-related - a blob of neat Stardrops & a tsp of salt on a scourer did the trick.
*Consult May meal plans & write tomorrow's shopping list.
*Have a serious go through fridge & pantry to make sure we are not buying stuff we already have in.
*Surveys (did 3 or 4, then my boredom threshold kicked in big time....I mean how much can you really say about how buying brands of cheese makes you feel about yourself as a person??!)
*Watered all the veggies & checked for pests/problems. Re-pegged 99p polytunnels to prevent losing valuable future food to the gales. Moved tray of chard plants as they had been discovered by local Seek & Destroy Sparrow Unit. Discovered one of my pots of watercress seedlings totally destroyed by blackbirds digging for worms. Put metal grid over the other pots, will have to resow while there's time, as I love watercress & it's an easy crop to do.
*Make time to look properly through latest Avon book as appears to be a big sale on & I tend only to buy my regular products when on offer.
*Research prices of kettles as ours has been limping on for ages but may just have limped its last. I have a lovely big Le Creuset kettle that goes on the hob bought when I was a big naughty spender & using that would mean not shelling out for a new one, but it takes a long time to boil....hence gas use. It doesn't sit well with my new careful nature to buy something when I've already got one, though.....
Think that's it for me today. I've got other little things to do, but nothing MS-related. Have a good Friday, everyone,

Hi everyone,
Thanks for starting us off Josie.
Today I have/will:-- Made use of free water & cookie at work
- Completed a mystery shop on my lunch break, not sure how MSE this is though as I am tempted to keep my purchase but there is no reimbursement, only the £8 fee!
- B/L/D from stores
- HM porridge pot for brekkie
- Log calories & exercise on free apps
- Dinner from meal plan - Switching it up with tomorrows dinner as I need to go to Mr T's but don't have time, so today it Thai green chicken curry instead of veg pad thai!
- Check postcode lottery & birthday bingo
- Charging phone at work
- Heating off
- Check online banking
- Checked for new mystery shopping opportunities
- Enter some comps
- Do some surveys
- Declutter & flylady
- Check FB & fleabay
- Call me a scrooge if you like but I declined "Dress Down Friday" today...We usually do it once a month for charity & pay £1 for the pleasure, but they have decided to make it every week. I don't mind paying £12 a year but I can't really afford £50...Plus & if I were to pay that, I would never be able to sponsor all the charity events my friends do & there are other charities I'd much rather support as the 2 our company chose were not my personal choice. *Awaits someone to have a go at me*
- Look into courier charges for a possible fleabay buyer, he can't collect but has said he doesn't mind paying the huge courier fee!
- Go to second job this evening, driving so I cannot drink tonight

Afternoon,
Thanks for starting the thread josiebabie. New piccy Stitchy? Perni, I agree with you about these semi-compulsory dress down charity things. Last year I must have given £200 to charity through various things at work because I felt pressurised into it. I no longer say "yes" to every collecting tin. I prefer to give my time to charity when I can, instead.
I'm late today because I went on a 15 mile solo hike across the local hills and moorland this morning to try and shake off the unemployment blues. (Job interview for Monday has been postponed. Another different interview set up for Wed.) Had a lovely time. Lots of cute spring lambs, a close encounter with a heron who was posing in front of a waterfall and I saw a redstart. All free entertainment.Home now warming up.
Today I will:- Do Nectar AdPoints. Done
- Do OnePoll. Done
- Lunch is soup from the FoodBank. Done

That sounds a lovely walk Ally, sorry your job interview has been moved though.
Not a bad day all told. Another step in the right direction, 8 more busy weeks to go and then I will be a lot better off each week. Cant wait!
Bargains I have discovered this week. Red peppers are going to be 50p each in Lidl, thats a great price. Morrisons are doing Capri Sun drinks for only £2.99 for 10, instead of £5, this is a good deal for people with children.
Lidl still has 50p aubergines and 50p cucumbers, the best price I have seen whole cucumbers for is 79p elsewhere so a good saving.
Checked my banking, pretty bad till I can shift some cash around tommorow.
Think thats it, really tired tonight, sleeping has been very bad this week but hoping the let up in the financial worry of the past month ought to help eventually.
Night all
