Employment Part 2

Evening All,

I posted this on a old post of mine but got no response so im hoping a new thread will spur people on to offer guidance.

Im currently employed but the company I work for is going through tough times and they are making cut backs in the way of reducing staff numbers and overheads, as i only started in aug 2012 I will be one of the first to go ( this has been confirmed )

on a more cheerful note I have been offered work in the same industry on temporary contact basis but the company are not willing to put me on pay roll instead they will send work my way if I am a sole trader.

I declared BR early dec 2012 and have no IPA at present and from what I can see its not a problem for me to start as a sole trader however the part that concerns me and the employer who is offering me the position is will I have to make every customer I do work for aware of my BR??

The employer wont offer me the work if thats the case as he feels that it will put people off having the work done.

I have been offered a huge life line and would really appreciate some guidance on this matter as it would be a huge shame to miss the opportunity

My understanding is that you would only need to inform customers if you took money upfront from them over £500 for materials etc, if you are completing work with no money upfront, ie raising invoices after completion you will not have any problems.

Would keep really accurate records of all transactions and expenses you incur to do your job as a sole trader, you might need to check out the liability insurance side of things if you are working as a contractor rather than employee.
every time I manage to get one more breath into this body, I will sing a song of thanks to you my brothers, my sisters, my friends, may your sleep be peaceful, and angels sing sweetly in your ears.
