Reclaim council tax - dalton & dalton

I think my oh has just been had

Basically she had a phone call saying that they were in the area and all the neighbours have signed up to get the council tax band corrected.

After a 10 minute meeting and signing a cheque for £165 is there anything we should know about the company.

Has anyone had any dealings with them?

These companies very rarely can manage anything you can't do yourself (for free)- some of the companies myself and my colleagues have dealt with have been nothing less than sharks.
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

Contact the company telling them to cancel your contract and cancel the cheque asap.
Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.

As an added point, if it was an issue where there were large numbers of property banded incorrectly in a street then the VOA will often look at all of the bandings and amend them accordingly.
