I can see I have lots of defaults through the first half of the year in 2010. Nothing at all is listed after that - on Equifax. I cant see anything related to wescott, apex etc. Nothing seems to show after 2010 ?0

Thats good!
You might be able to get a mortgage then if there is nothing since. Get in touch with a broker and show them your report there could be some lenders available.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. you can't be defaulted twice on the same debt, hence their should be no entries from the debt collectors. If any do appear, you can have them removed.0 -
how do you get them removed ?0

A default remains until time barred.0

you can only have them removed if they shouldn't be there, e.g. if the default has been registered twice.
you ask the company who placed it there to remove it, if they refuse then you take court action, which isn't as complicated as you would expect it to be.0 -
I personally wouldnt bother asking for these to be removed. As it stands it looks like they may not be as bad as they could be - in which case agrevating the situation may make it worse.
It also doesnt sound like your disputing the debts - in the sense that they are valid debts, if thats the case they wont get removed anyway.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. The issue which thequant is referring to is that sometimes debt collecting agencies substitute the original default with a default record of their own giving a later date for the default. It also doesnt sound like your disputing the debts - in the sense that they are valid debts, if thats the case they wont get removed anyway.
Such entries are wrong and can and should be removed. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0
