L&G Funds Advice & Comparison
Options

I have a thread I started on the Pensions board where one aspect would be more appropriate here.
One of my options with this Buy Out Plan with Legal & General would be to switch funds within L&G.
My aim is to invest in something similar to the Vanguard LifeStrategy and am interested to know if anyone can help in looking at the LG funds to see what would be the closest equivalent.
I have listed the funds below but also enclose a link to the PDF from LG where only Pages 8-10 would be applicable and show more detail.
Many Thanks
Alan

It's a bit limited isn't it? I think the closest in concept to the Vanguard Life Strategy funds is the Consensus fund. It invests in a range of passive index tracking funds, just like the Vanguard fund. Where it differs is that rather than being a 'fixed weight' fund it bases it's asset allocation on an average of what other large pension funds are doing. It's currently about 80% equity or thereabouts.0

Thanks, yes it is a bit limited, they have a lot more funds but only those shown apply to the BOP.
So would the 80% equity you mention equate roughly to a Vanguard LifeStrategy 80%?
Cheers

Managed, distribution or consensus are probably the closest matches to the investment strategy. The rest are single sector funds designed to be used when building your own sector allocation (except WP which you can largely ignore unless you are close to scheme age)It's a bit limited isn't it?
it would be. Its a section 32 buy out bond.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

That would be the closest match I think, yes. The allocation is a bit different from the Vanguard L/S 80 and can change depending on what the benchmark allocation does.
The Managed fund is actively managed, and has a slightly lower equity content than the Consensus fund currently. The Distribution fund is more a cautious managed type fund, with a little over 40% equity currently.0
