Short-changed on heating oil

I ordered 900l on Monday, paying online in advance. The guy (or girl) came yesterday (nobody was home) and delivered the oil, then left their wee slip with the meter readings and it showed 899l delivered. Never had this happen before, has anyone else? It's only 54.3p, but still!

They might refund you the 54p.

Not sure about the .3 though.

When I prepay online then the money only comes out after the delivery has been made and only for the amount delivered - for example if they can only fit 800 litres in my tank but I have ordered 900 litres then I would only be charged for the 800.

My supplier says "if you want a full tank, order more than you think you need", online.
They then charge for the amount actually delivered.
That takes a reversal of the first transaction and a new transaction which looks a little strange, but it's the way the rules work.

Forgot to say on the original post, I've a 1200l tank and it was virtually empty, so it wasn't a case of the other litre not fitting. I'm going to contact them today to see what they say.

Would it be one litre out to account for what's in the nozzle?

When I had OCH sometimes the printed readout would be between the two readings.
