Advice needed please
i have just divorced from my wife .
But the house side of things has not been sorted as yet.
my wife wants to keep our house untill my daughter reaches 18.
Where as i would like her to buy me out of my shair now. but she says she cant afford too, as i have depts i want to clear that total £15,000. about £7000 was ran up while i was still living with her and the rest in the last year on renting a flat to live and other living exspences.
I am looking to go bankrupt. my name is on the deeds and i have not paid towards the mortgage since i left december 2011.
as agreed with my ex wife.
But paid the mortgage and bills for the time i did live there. ( around 7 years)
I think if the house was sold the equity in the house should amount to around £30,000 to £40,000 est.
Would she have to sell if i went bankrupt can i go bankrupt?
The last i have heard from my ex wife is that she went to court to sign a consent order. i dont know what the consent order is and i have not as yet been asked to sign anything.
thankyou for any advice you may able to give

If you went bankrupt the OR/trustee would want your share of any beneficial interest/equity. If forcing a sale is the only way for them to get their hands on it, they will. Alternatively your ex could offer to buy your share of the BI from the trustee.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

OP, have you considered where your child would live if you forced sale of the house?0
