Sigma Red & HL Solicitors

Hi,
I`m new to this and really need some guidance and help.
Long story short.
I received a CCJ 2 months ago, I didn't know what it was for and had appealed it blindly without knowing the whole situation.
Anyway a judgement was entered against me so for £398, I contacted H L Solicitors and they informed me that the debt was in fact higher then the judgement and that I would need to pay £412.
I set up a direct debit to pay off £398 as that's what the CCJ states, anyway something didn't feel right so I obtained a copy of my credit report and to my amazement the Default/Delinquent balance is only £164, and the current balance states now £412. My question is can the current balance increase or should it not remain the same as the default balance if nothing is being paid off towards the debt.
Please help me someone. I have already write a letter to H L Solicitors now asking for all paperwork and breakdown of cost associated with this account.
I need to know the position of the CCJ now which is hindering my credit report as well.
