My son is having a party for 20 of his friends. They are between 4 and 6 in age.
Important question
How many sandwiches would you make
Am planning cheese ham and jam and on white and brown bread.
Thanks in advance :T

I do 2 triangle per person assuming there are other bits and bobs alsoHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

2 slices of bread each - ie 4 quarters of a sandwich each.
What about marmite and peanut butter (as long as you don't have a nut allergy child!)0 -
Ooo hadn't considered marmite I love it0

Yes loads of other bits0 -
Are you only catering for the children? Or are accompanying adults included too.
If just the children just two slices of bread each cut into 4. Just keep bread and fillings handy for if these all go then you can always make more.Sometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait

I think the number of sandwiches you make would really depend on what else you are planning to include.
I always found that sometimes you didnt need many sandwiches if you also included some other nibble type things...
cubed cheese,cherry tomatoes,carrot sticks,sausage rolls crisps etc
the other thing that you might need to consider is vege options,I was really surprised how many younger children are actually meatfree nowadays.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
I'd ignore sarnies altogether and serve cold cheese and tomato pizza.
On a table laden with grapes/mini sausages/crisps/other nibbles the sandwiches get ignored, leaving to (in almost every party I've been to!) lots of leftovers. I always overestimated the amount children will eat at a party, as they usually know that there's sweet stuff to come after the savoury! They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
Thans for all the advice and suggestions, some of which I hadnt even thought of0

one slice of bread per child, allows 2 triangles.0

I wouldn't do sandwiches at all. I'd get a French Stick and cut it into thin slices and then put a spoon of pasta sauce on each and a sprinkling of ready-grated cheese and put the lot on a baking tray in the oven till the cheese melts. Makes at least 20.I am the Cat who walks alone0
