Things like that.
This. I completely agree.Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A
Never regret something that once made you smile :A0 -
My other half is good looking, and knows it, I unfortunately am not on the right side of attractive.
I don't think anyone would make me feel good about myself. Insecurity is an awful thingIts all mind over matter. I don't mind and you don't matter:rotfl:0 -
Aww this is a very sweet thread.
No, actually, objectively, my husband probably isn't the best looking man in the world. He is bald (well, not really - but quite thin on top so he shaves his head. I actually don't think his hair is anywhere near thin enough to justify shaving it all off, but he is funny about it and insists on shaving it). He is a decent height and quite slim, but broad shouldered. Although bald, he does not have a 'thick head' - no rolls of flesh at the back! (Ergh) He has quite refined, delicate features (not feminine lol! Maybe like French royalty of old...) He is also 15 years older than me and although he looks a good 8 years younger than he is (everyone says so - once we were filling out some forms for something and the person demanded to see his ID because they couldn't believe he was that old!) he still looks a lot older than most of my friends' partners.
To me, though, he is the most gorgeous guy ever. He makes me go weak at the knees and I am always telling him how handsome he is. I adore every little bit of him. He dresses incredibly well and looks amazing in a suit, but equally yummy in a t shirt and jeans.
If I am brutally honest, I was not physically attracted to him when we first met. I went out with him because we met online and I knew from the messages we had exchanged and the phone calls that there might be something there. Plus, we met on a dating sight for people with certain interests and decent, normal, solvent, not insane men were pretty few and far between! Luckily after about half an hour in his company the attraction found me... On the opposite, I am pretty sure he only dated me because I was 21, and had huge boobs that I liked showing off! Luckily he very quickly discovered there was more to me than a fab cleavage and I very quickly fell in love with his personality and realised that he was actually gorgeous.
I feel quite insecure about my own looks. Though I am only 25 I feel like I already look 'past it'! I think my best looking years were between 19-22 and I wish I had known it! I think he still finds me attractive but I do think the lack of confidence I feel recently probably isn't very attractive to him. Strangely, I always say that one of the best things he gave me early in our relationship was self esteem and self confidence. I wonder where it has gone? That said, on our wedding day 6 weeks ago he couldn't look at me and he said it was because I was so beautiful he cried every time he looked at meHe does tell me I am beautiful and so on but doesn't jump on me as regularly as he used to.
Hmm. That turned into a bit of a confessional! But it has made me realise two things...firstly, my husband is a stunner. Secondly, I need to somehow try and get some of my confidence back.
Thanks MSE, better than therapy0 -
Objectively (well, as much as is possible anyway), my OH is extremely good looking and he knows it! As soon as I set eyes on him, I knew I had to have him
He's from the south of France and is classically tall, dark and bronzed. I'm really fussy and have high standards but he ticks every box (he does get a few points deducted for periodically being a grumpy, stubborn Frenchman though). Not wishing to blow my own trumpet, but I know that I'm also good looking, so I think we are fairly evenly matched (although I'm petite, fair-skinned and blonde, so opposite in that respect). We also just got engaged and will be getting married on the Cote D'Azur next May :jRemember Occam's Razor - the simplest explanation is usually the right one.
32 and mortgage-free0 -
My OH is ageing well, he is becoming "distinguished" as they say. He wears a suit most days, but it is when it is a three piece suit that it really does it for me!!
I am small and petite, and have always been likened to Lulu, and I did some lookalike stuff for charity years ago, not so sure that I have aged as well as she has after four kids, but luckily my OH still seems to think so after 32 years of marriage and is always very complimentary and tactile!!0 -
I've loved reading this thread.
I think my OH is gorgeous, and adore all of him, even the bits he doesn't like. I find his personality just as attractive too, I think that always adds to the physical side of it as I became even more atracted to my OH as I got to know him more. I hope I tell him enough, I'm not one for big gestures of romance but I'm pretty sure he knows that I still think he's hot even on the roughest morning.
I know that I don't scrub up too badly, but I don't tend to make much of an effort at all day to day and can look a bit shabby. Whilst he doesn't make me feel like I need to spend hours beautifying, I know he likes it when I take a bit more care of myself. If only I was one of those woman who woke up and looked like a godess with zero effort!0 -
I think my hubby is a complete hunk! He's a silver fox and gets better every year.
We met when he was 41 and I was 23, he is definitely like a good wine as I've seen pictures of him when he was younger and he def. wouldn't have turned my head then.0 -
I always think there are those who are classically good looking and those who have their own charms. My OH fits into the latter category. He will never be Brad Pitt but there are things about him that I just can't resist, some are in the way he looks, some are mannerisms or things he does but I love that I find him amazing for my own reasons rather than just because he looks good on the surface to everyone who casts an eye over him.
He has the most amazing eyes so I can only hope that when our turn comes for kids, our offspring inherit those.0 -

AwwwwwwwI need to somehow try and get some of my confidence back
Mind if I join in too?!If only I was one of those woman who woke up and looked like a godess with zero effort!
I wish!!!!!!!!!!!!I've seen pictures of him when he was younger and he def. wouldn't have turned my head then.
I can actually say the same here!
