Paying Child Support and doesnt know where daughter is

My boyfriend has been paying CSA for the last 5 -6 years. However his ex partner left him and he has no idea where she is, or hasnt seen his daughter for over 5 years. Are they allowed to give you access to know where his daughter is, or does he need to keep paying?

He must keep paying. Access and child maintenance liability are two very separate things.

Is your partner named on birth certificate? If so, he has parental responsibility.

Does he want access?

Access and maintenance are treated as separate issues, however the CSA can pass on a non-resident parent's contact details to a parent with care if the NRP asks them too. Obviously they can't force the PWC to contact the other party to actually contact them.

No, there's a letter/form they need to get from whichever party wants their details passed on.

Rubbish!!

We had child protection issues and I could've really done with knowing where DS's NRP was and they wouldn't pass any info on even in those circs so they certainly won't pass them on!!

They will pass them on at the request of the person who wants to send their info. In your case you were asking for the NRP's details, he hadn't contacted them requesting they send you that info, hence why they didn't give you the info. You could have asked them to send him your own contact details but that would have been all.
