Will Britannia group (hotels) CRB check me for a job cleaning chalets at Pontins?

So, I have been offered a job cleaning Chalets at Pontins, it's run by Britannia hotels. I have been given paperwork to fill in and have been asked to take my I.d etc, when I start next week.
The thing is there is a part on one of the forms which mentions child protection, and the possibility that they will ask the police for my records.
While I was in university I stupidly got into a bit of trouble at a football match and ended up with a criminal record for assault.
I also have a conviction for handling stolen goods (which was down to a flatmate keeping a stolen t.v in our flat without my knowledge!).
I'm not interested in anyone saying its my own fault etc, I just need to know if they will CRB check me. All I am doing is cleaning the chalets, I will not have any direct contact with anyone staying at the park.
My thinking is that as there is such a high turnover of cleaning staff that they will only CRB check those staff working directly with the customers? What do you think?
Any genuine answers will be much appreciated, I hate the fact that I am finding it hard to get a job because of something that happened 3 years ago

Did write you a long answer but my stupid phone cleared it. Anyway, the jist was...Not sure about Pontins but I worked as a cleaner and had a full check. My advise would be to be upfront and tell them the truth if they ask on the application or in person. If you can give a good case you might still get the job. If you lie and they find out you would most certainly not get it/ be fired.0

In cleaning chalets you will have access to high value items that guests may have left it there. I cannot be sure about Pontins but at 'another well known holiday centre' all staff are checked.0
