i use the callwave widget too, i text my friend in the usa, and she always recieves them quick and easy. and ones sent to there are unlimited, it's the 'international' ones, to other uk numbers that are limited to 5 a day, but if you have friends in the usa, it's definitely worth getting the widget!

    CallWave's "Privacy Policy" states:

"...CallWave representatives will not view or listen to the contents of Member's private communications as part of its routine procedure. However, in order to determine the cause of technical problems or to determine where a communications needs to be sent CallWave representatives may need to view or listen to said communications. The only other instance in which the content of Member's communication would be seen or heard by CallWave is if CallWave is required to disclose the contents by applicable law, by order of a court (or other governmental body or arbitrator) of competent jurisdiction or to protect the safety of any person or the integrity of any property rights.

As a result, CallWave cannot guarantee that the content of Member's transmissions will never be seen and that the content of Member's voice messages will never be heard by CallWave personnel..."

As CallWave cannot predict what users will say, when speaking or texting, surely every communication, made using its service, will be recorded?

Admittedly, I always expect calls, in Britain, are routinely monitored, so using this service wouldn't be much different.

  • i also use callwave and it works a treat on OSX too.

I was on hols in Australia recently and the texts worked fast but try to keep them short. Long texts are split and I found sometimes they didn't all show making the message a little confused.

They also have an online spot to text at http://www.callwave.com/My/TextMessages/ just in case you are away from the PC/Mac you normally use for the service.
