Yes, non smoker get preference as smoking people get more breaks.

I used to be a heavy smoker, between 20 and 40 a day for 20 odd years , I've worked from the day I left school without once being off ill so that's a bit of a generalisation tbh.
While smoking does damage your health I would disagree that they are more likely to throw sickies.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
A smoker gets the same breaks easy
Lunch break and that's all - there are no rights to smoking breaks
That may well be the case, and there is such a smoking policy at our place but people do still take the p!ss, coming in on the early shift, then going out just before the normal start time. then at regular intervals during the 2 hour lunch window, as well as taking a lunch and sneaking off somewhere mid afternoon for 15 minutes every day at the same time.
Us non smokers don't get such breaks and would be frowned upon if we went missing at the same times.0 -
I don't smoke but people I work with do.
I've noticed that though they have three or four smoking breaks, it is two or three minutes at the most. They are also amongst the people who work the hardest.0 -

That was a comment aimed at me I suspect (the post you quoted) because I said that smokers were also at a higher RISK of being off ill. That is I'm afraid undeniable, while you personally might not have been off ill it's not unheard of.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0
