Vanquish Credit Card First Payment Date

Now that I have received my Vanquish credit card after BR, I'm just wondering if any of you lovely folk can tell me when I should expect my first payment date. My statement is due today but I haven't had it yet, but how many days after my statement is issued will the DD go out of my account. I have started using my card now with a couple of small purchases, but for budgeting reasons would like to know this info.

Vanquis usually take the Direct Debit on the 'Payment due date' mentioned on your statement. IIRC they've only once take it on a different date in my case, and that was the following day.

This date is typically about three and a half weeks after the statement is produced. You can view your Vanquis transactions and statements online if you register at http://www.vanquis.co.uk/. However, you'll stop receiving paper statements unless you pay an additional fee.

One gottya with Direct Debits is that they take a few days to set up. And if it hasn't been set up by the time your statement is produced, payment won't usually be taken via the Direct Debit.

Fortunately, Vanquis are pretty good at sending out letters to confirm that a Direct Debit has been set up. If in doubt, contact them and ask whether your next payment will be taken by DD or not.
  • Lala you can call them up and ask them to take the payment on a specific date. My statement generates on the 15th of the month and I had a DD set up to be taken on the 1st of the month, Vanquis then decided to start taking the min payment rather than the full balance as I had instructed. SnowTiger is right they are quite good in the sense that they send you a confirmation of the DD.

But in my case, I cancelled the DD and now each pay day I call them up and pay the full balance over the phone and they give me a reference number incase I need to query the transaction.

    CAn also be organised online?

Set up online for payments direct from account, using debit card.
I got seriously ahead of myself because it actually took about 8 or 9 weeks for my first card payment to show up on the VAnquis statement [online].

MAybe I just didn't trust them, but I settled the account well in advance of the due date....just in case I'd made a boo-boo?

Now..if I use the card [usually fuel, etc].... which isn't often, I admit....I find it takes sometimes 6 weeks from use, to 'due date'...and they send me txts left, right and centre to ensure payment is made...which it probably already has....?

    Guess I ain't what they'd consider a 'good' customer?

[ie, not getting behind, not accruing interest charges..probably not even needing a credit card at all?]
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

Well, received my statement yesterday. Now, if I decide to spend for instance say £10 before now and the payment due date on, 3rd June, will I have to pay that £10 aswell as the statement amount? Does that makes sense?

So the amount on my statement balance is £30 say and I spend another £10 after my statement, do I pay £40. I'm confusing myself now, just a little paranoid about getting into strife.
