Cash envelope system wallets

Does anyone know where I can purchase one of these at a reasonable price? They are so expensive and most are shipped from the USA.

I really want to start doing the envelope system but I refuse to carry around bundles of cash on me in envelopes.

Any other ideas are most welcome.

Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

It always baffles me that when someone comes up with an idea to help them budget/save money, it inevitably involves spending money, which kind of defeats the object.

I thought the envelope system was about using separate envelopes for different bills/purchases. I can't see how you would end up carrying bundles of cash around with you if you were only going to pay your gas bill. That would be in one envelope.

Can you hand sew simple stitches in a straight line? If so, you could make several envelopes out of scrap fabric, with a press stud or velcro fastening, at virtually no cost. Failing that, go to a car boot sale and pick up a wallet for a few pennies, or, they sell purses, wallets, and bags very cheaply in charity shops.

Get into the mindset of NOT SPENDING money you don't have to. That thingy on ebay is a want not a need.

I keep money bags in an old plastic box. On each money bag I put a sticker on it with a word for what the money is for ie Food, Petrol etc. I only touch the bags when I plan on buying something in that category.
