Want to get your hands on a grand just for having an idea? Well, this is your chance! All you have to do is come up with a Grand Idea and break it down into 5 simple steps about how you would turn your idea from brainwave to reality and you could win £1000 for your efforts!
Your idea may be big or small, serious or silly, feasible or fantastical; whatever it is we want to hear it! You might have come up with a solution for world peace, have big plans to be the next music mogul, invented a mind control device for cats or just thought of something that really makes you laugh. Our judges are looking for ideas that are original, enterprising, inspirational or just good comedy value!
There are loads of ways to enter so to get started simply click on ‘Enter Your Idea’ at the bottom of the page and you could be on your way to winning a grand! What are you waiting for?

Video: Add a bit of personality, by pitching your idea in a video clip. Simply log in to your MTV Flux account go to 'Upload Videos' and enter the competition by uploading your film and selecting 'Grand Idea' from the drop down box.
Fopp Video Booth:The Grand Idea to Make Your Mark team will be visiting Fopp stores with a video kiosk, giving you the chance to get some tips, record your ideas and send them straight off for entry to the competition.

Grand Tips
- Keep it simple: don't over complicate or go into too much detail.
- Keep it short: 100 words is the maximum for the 5 steps to making it happen, video entries should be less than a minute.
- Keep it fresh: remember, we're looking for ideas that are original, funny, inspiring or enterprising but it can be about anything.
- Think it through: your 5 steps are important for our judges to know that you've given your idea enough thought.
- Get inspired: look around this site for some ideas and inspiration. There are also some links to other sites that can help you develop ideas
