Buy the cheap ones and replace regularly. I find the more expensive ones don't last any longer than the cheap ones.

I have the exact same problems with pillows! I've bought a pair of Snuggledown box pillows (about three months ago) and very happy with them. I plump them up each morning and they're still just as good as the day we got them. They come in hollowfibre or down. I also have a pair of tesco firm pillows, which are also very good and have lasted much longer than the equivalents from Asda and Marks.

We are pleased with a recent purchase from Sainsbury's. Not the cheapest, fairly firm.

I usually go for Orthopedic pillows, these seem to suit me.

TK Max have a good selection of pillows, duvets and bedding. I recently bought some feather and down pillows and so far very pleased with them. I love TK Max as you never know what you will find. They are my first port of call these days. I used to hate going there as they resembled a jumble sale but things seem to be more organized these days.

I got my Dad some Dorma ones from Dunhelm Mill, very good quality and only $14 for two.

I always buy snuggledown and very pleased with the pillows and duvets. I buy the down and are machine washable too. The brand snuggledown of norway are ethical which means the bird is not plucked alive just for its feathers and down. I don't know where i read this but that was the sole reason i purchased those. Matalan used to sell snuggledown but not shopped there for years so unsure if they still stock it.
