When does child maintenance end?

Hi, My husbands child is 18 and due to finish A Levels this summer. Am I right in thinking that the payments should finish on 1st September?

Possibly - it depends on what the child intends to do afterwards (and whether child benefit remains in payment).

More then likely still payable then. Higher ed courses until age 20 are payable but not university courses.

Oh I've got it wrong then - it's going on from A levels so is that further education?

From the Gov.uk Child Maintenance page...

Child maintenance is financial support that helps towards a child’s everyday living costs when the parents have separated.

It’s for children who are either:

• under 16
• under 20 and in full-time education (but not higher than A-Level or equivalent)
