Look for stickered foods at a fraction of the price! And buy when on offer.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0

Nothing revelationary for us MSE regulars then, particularly those of us that are vegetarian.
Perhaps one for MSE Martin's oh-so-amazing TV show?Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
"No man is worth, crawling on the earth"- adapted from Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio
Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

Salmon, spring onions and rice are 'posh' foods. Eh???0

Nada beat me to it - surely nobody thinks salmon is posh any more - not since the advent of salmon fish farms? It's about the cheapest fish you can get - always on offer at one or other of the supermarkets.0

Posh Nosh reminds me of this:

Architect's Fish And Chips anyone? The cookbook is available in hardback if you're serious.0 -
its says in the blog that salmon has fairly long use by dates, i havent seen salmon with fairly long use by dates?? anyhow i freeze mine!0

Supermarkets don't sell 'posh nosh' (cringing at that awful condescending phrase). I've never seen Brockleby's game pie, Poilane baguettes, Fortnum & Mason's honey or Highgrove preserves for example in Morrisons, Lidl or even Sainsbury's, let alone caviar.
Salmon, trout, sea bass, bream, river cobbler, tilapia - most of that stuff on the fish counter is either farmed or cheap imported stuff and may well have been previously frozen, too.0 -

I think that M and S might not agree with you! after all it's not just food it's M and S food!! lol!0 -
I refuse to pay more for non-organic than I would pay for organic at Ocado or Sainsbury's - especially now that M&S now allows GM feed across all ranges.0

Sorry OP, for me Japanese food isn't "posh nosh", it's foreign food in the same way that Chinese and Indian food are foreign food.
As for salmon....farmed salmon in the supermarkets is cheap with it's antibiotic filled, pink dyed, flabby flesh....and you can keep it...give me wild salmon any day.
Lumpfish caviar which is what most supermarkets sell isn't posh either.....you can also buy farmed caviar.....which if you like or can afford sturgeon, farmed is probably a better option than wild as the sturgeon in the Caspian Sea is endangered. Rio Frio in Andalucia produce a farmed sustainable organic caviar sold in the UK at a reasonable price.
Posh for me is fresh, or simply cooked delicious food.
Home grown fruit and vegetables....I buy jam from a lady in the village...home grown fruit and home made and absolutely delicious
Our neighbours free range chickens and eggs
Game - in season
Hoggett - older lamb (not gernerally sold in supermarkets)...lovely.
Crab
Sea Bass
Halibut
Oxtail
Home made mayonnaise
Proper home made custard
Mustard made from powder not ready made...
Posh for me is not anything that is unrecognisable from it's original form...potato croquets for instance, fish fingers, chicken nuggets
Farmed salmon
Farmed shellfish
Minted lamb - any meat that comes flavoured...chinese style pork etc.
Fish that isn't recognisable as fish
Parsley as a garnish...use it in the food not on the plate
Everyone's idea of "posh nosh" will be different and Japanese food and farmed salmon isn't mine...0
