Mis-sold mortgage 10 Year Fixed Rate

  • You wanted the security of what rate you would be paying if the base rate changed and that is exactly what you got.

Mis-bought, possibly, if this was not what you wanted.

Mis-sold - unfortunately not, you got exactly what you wanted.

I'm 31, and no learning difficulties. Neither has my wife (29).

Well accept you did not make the best choice and live with it. That's life.

I'm no expert, but wonder if there is a way to get out of the mortgage...is there an early exit fee? It might be worth paying this and then getting a better mortgage. Do your sums and read your small print!

Oops, sorry, read the last bit of OP, I see this is not an option.

Can you take a lodger in to help towards your payments instead?

What about your fiance getting a mortgage in her name?

I have always had fixed rate products, I want the surety that things won't change for a given period of time.
I am aware that this has cost me more than variable tracker holders over the period of time.

This is the price I pay for certainty.

Don't be bitter about it, no good will come of it, best off trying to pay down what you can as you won't get a base rate tracker under +1% now anyway.
