Housing benefit will not take his child maintenance payments as a deduction. They will use his net payment (gross with tax and ni taken off)

He must notify the CSA though if there are children living in the household as this will effect his payment, it will reduce from 15% of net to 15% of 85% of net, but any CTC or WTC if they are still applicable may be taken into account as well if he is the higher earner...

Kevin i know we don’t see eye to eye on a few things especially people who are in receipt of JSA but i ask you this what would happen in the scenario where the NRP was the only earner and the NRP partner has 0 income no permission to work and no recourse to public funds would tax credits still be taken into consideration?

Surely a case worker would see sense in these circumstances?

The partner does not come into it at all.

Liability is based on NRP income and any child tax credits/working tax credits coming into the NRP household.

Not always straight away - I had one telling me I was still liable for the maintenance rate of £5 (for being on JSA) even though I was only getting £4.08 at the time...

I told her that if she could get £5 from £4.08 she was welcome to it...

She saw sense after that and I received a 'nil assessment' until I started work... :rotfl:

And yet again the PWC has a large flat screen tv access to another child’s tax credits and an endless pot of gold how dare they shame on them but you soon find they have no shame they are purely motivated by money SCUM,

And the NRP receives a discount for children in his household who may or may no be his children, but because he lives with them he has a reduction. So the First set of children misses out a little bit because of someone else's children.

Im sure the PWC in your case doesn't have a endless pot of gold, if they did, they wouldn't be entitled to tax credits in their own right :-)
