Employed by family, references?

My mother is a manager of a pub and I work for her as a second job. I just work as and when required as apposed to set hours, since it's not my main source of income.
Updating my CV but I'm not entirely sure if I can use my mother as a reference. I know you're not really supposed to give family as a reference but my mother is technically my boss so...?
Is it acceptable to use her as a reference?
Thanks

I wouldn't name references on my cv. Last one I wrote said References available on request.
My sister was my boss in my last job though, and if my new employer had asked for references then I would have given my sister as one.
I know my sister would have given me a good reference for two reasons. One, she was my sister and only ever says nice things about me. And two, because I was good at my job. She wouldn't have lied because I was a good employee, regardless of her being my sister iykwim? Can't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
I just put 'references available on request' too. If filling in an application form though, could you list someone else as a reference, like a deputy manager, if thet wont allow a reference from your mum?0

Leave any mention of references off of a CV it's very old fashioned.
If your supplying reference details then provide who your manager was wether this was family is irrelevant unless is specifically says "can not be related".
Provide a name of someone else you worked with who is authorised to give a reference on behalf of your mothers pub.Bad luck breeds bad luck.
Damn I'm doomed.0
