World Band Radio at Lidls

From next Monday, Lidl's have a portable multiband radio for £9.99.
I bought a similar one from them last year and they are a German make called Bench. They are well constructed and give a decent sound quality for a radio of that size.
Very good value for that price.

These radios are a bloody nuisance - they eat up you battery power even when not on. If you remove the batteries then you loose all your pre-sets !! Its a difficult & complicated Radio to navigate - its a case of going back to the manual every time to re-set the pre-sets.

So just to be clear. You wouldn't recommend this radio as a good buy?

A bad workman always blames his tools. I get very good battery life from 1800mah rechargeables and have no trouble with the presets - all seems quite logical to me.0 -

Setting up the presets may be logical - but its not simple or straightforward. Its not possible to work out from looking at the buttons how to do it. If you havent used the radio for a while its very likely you will have to recourse to the manual to remind yourself how to do it. But then, if you havent used the radio for a while its very likely the batteries are dead!
Whats the battery life you get from 1800mah rechargeables got to do with this radio?
To summarise this offer - "you get what you pay for"0
