Crystal bouquet

Options
Anyone else having one?
Because we're Italy bound to get married, and the costs of various things in our destination, I don't particularly want to spend a fortune on flowers that I'm not going to be able to take home and look at for some days afterwards (I'm not really a flowery person anyway).

I decided to look up the crystal bouquets and have spent a good few nights sitting twisting beads onto wire with OH's trusty battery drill for help - still hurts the fingers though!

I have done 282 so far, and have another 130 to go! Then I'm going to pack it all into either a poster tube or pringles tubes, take it with me, and do the finishing touches, ie binding together, once out there. It looks fab so far, can't wait to see the finished item sparkling in the sunshine!

Definitely. I'm planning on doing more twisting tomorrow night after my fingers have had a rest tonight, I'll see how it looks after that and post a pic for you then. I've used silver florist wire and clear and red coloured Swarovski crystals in two sizes (red ones are smaller) all bought from eBay and they work great together.
I looked up google images for ideas and thought about curling the wires but have decided to do them straight. I'll be using black ribbon around the stem with some tartan ribbon (OH's tartan) over the top of it. I'm also attaching crystals of our initials aswell to totally personalise it.

Aw thank you :-) it sounds really nice. I am not artistic at all so well done, some of them are stupidly expensive ( the ones already made up) but I guess so are flowers.

Well, that's all the stems done, all 414 of them! Now just to try and put them together in some sort of fashion......
