OP, I am in the final few months of mine. It's been a very long slog - but I don't regret it.
Make sure you consider it carefully though - IVAs are not for everyone and it depends on your circumstances. And be CERTAIN to use one of the IVA providers who don't charge hefty fees for the "privilege" - any reputable debt advisor (I strongly recommend the CAB - http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/england/debt_e.htm) should be able to offer some impartial advice.
It's difficult to offer more than this, not knowing about your circumstances, income and level of debt. It IS a big decision to make, and not an easy one - but it was the best thing for me.
